Saturday 19th June 2021. Silver Menu In Burnley

Saturday the 19th Of June had teams of country hog roast in Wigan, Leeds and Burnley. Master chef John was introducing Tom the younger but brilliant chef to hog roast catering.

The event was a repeat booking which is always fantastic to have, for David and Donna to help celebrate Maureen’s Birthday.

After arriving around 3pm in good time for a 5pm serve time, the team were soon set up and had the hog roasting away with the sage and onion stuffing; made by Tom on the morning of the event! The aroma of a fresh hog, stuffed with herbs, alongside the sage and onion stuffing, is unrivalled in our rather biased opinion!

Friends of the hosts were arriving regular now and soon the 30 guests were enjoying drinks and what seemed to be great conversation. Many of the guests were from the local area.

The menu prepared was the extremely popular Silver menu, a real favourite this year with 90 percent of our bookings being the Silver menu. It really is a nice menu that fits just about any occasion. Donna had opted to add on deserts to the menu to really spoil her guests for the day, and why not on such a special day.

With the hog roasting away, Tom did his own Q&A session in answering all the younger guests’ questions about the art of hog roasting. A very nice and educating touch

With the guests now rather ravenous, John & Tom lifted the hog and the hog was passed off for temperature with Tom exclaiming “let the feast begin”.

The salads were dressed, the crackling removed and joints of pork were slayed forming a tremendous feast for a really lovely group of people.

With the hog gone in record time, Donna and her guests were making toasts in what really was a lovely atmosphere. With the toasts all but done the afters of profiteroles and cheesecakes were dressed with cream and fresh berries ready for the guests second course.

All the guests commented positively on the food. A great day was being had by all. Whilst the guests were still in high spirits and with drinks flowing John and Tom packed down discreetly and wished David & Donna all the best and wished Maureen a happy Birthday.

Tom seemed to translate his skills across to hog roast catering well and picked up a £20 tip on his first event. A very nice gesture indeed.

The van was loaded. The boys headed back to base having done yet another enjoyable job and yet again for extremely nice people.
